The projected completion date for the project is May 2013. Our timeline is broken down into fall and spring semesters at SJSU:
Fall 2012 (8/2012-12/2012):
- Define project scope
- Conduct initial research
- Design and fabricate initial prototype
- Develop kinematic equations of motion
- Test/refine equations using prototype
- Research/develop data extraction methods
- Integrate realtime software control into prototype motion
- Conduct motor sizing calculations
- Develop funding proposals
- Conduct full-scale mechanical design calculations
- Begin full-scale design
- Finish full-scale design over winter break
Spring 2013 (1/2013-5/2013):
- Begin full-scale fabrication
- Develop encoder system for servo motor operation
- Finish fabrication by mid-semester
- Finalize electronics
- Test/tune system
- Final details
- Final presentation: May 2013
